His sire Goldmine Ashanti and grandsire Champagne Charlie, possibly the most famous show palomino, both multi Royal Supreme Champions led and ridden coloured and open. This makes Illusions progeny the 4th generation of this famous show horse dynasty to be out winning with amateur riders and handler who absolutely love the quiet easy trainable natures, including Coldstream Diamonds are Forever already multi show champion in SA in led and ridden and Coldstream Silver Fox in WA many wins inc. Grand Champion DA gelding.
Goldmine Illusion has a double cross in his pedigree to the amazing bloodline of Claredale Champagne Charlie. This horse was one of the best performed palomino stallions to ever enter the show ring and arguably the most influential sire of palominos in Australia.
Illusion is by a son of ‘Charlie’, Goldmine Ashanti Gold, a superb palomino stallion who was bred by Jan and Collin Lovett of Goldmine stud in Sunbury Victoria, Australia. ‘Ashanti’ was legendary for his wins in the show ring, being the most decorated palomino stallion in several states, winning many championships in both led and ridden.
‘Ashanti’ won his first ridden event at the Palomino State Championships, Ridden Palomino Stallion, shortly after being broken into saddle aged at 9 years. Interesting to note he only spent one week at the breakers and was sent home as being broken in and safe to ride, which goes to prove he had a truly outstanding quiet trainable temperament. He does pass this on to his foals. Another highlight of his career was Royal Adelaide show champion thoroughbred stallion, champion palomino stallion and 3rd in the stock horse stallion championship.
